Need Your Bones Set?

Frontierland in Disneyland Paris is just as full of hidden treasures as anywhere else in the resort. Although this one, situated at the Last Chance Cafe, may be a different kind of treasure...

As you can see, Doc Holliday specialises in some, well, cowboy related injuries and ailments.

Hopefully we won't need to visit this doctor on our visit to Frontierland!

Founders and Partners

One of the most important windows on Main Street U.S.A. belongs to two very important people.

Two Brothers
Dreamers & Doers

If we can Dream it we can Do it!

Roy O.Disney
Walt Disney

Founders
and
Partners

Situated above Delicious Sweets, this window is, of course, dedicated to the men who helped make the Disney theme parks a reality - Walt Disney and his brother Roy, co-founders of what is now the Walt Disney Company.

Windows Without Strings

When exiting les Voyages de Pinocchio, in Disneyland Paris, be sure to take a look at the doors which lead to la Bottega di Geppetto ('Geppetto's Workshop'). You may notice some beautiful stained glass workmanship, which I'm sure Geppetto approves of!

Sweet Treats of Paris

Visiting Disneyland Paris can make you rather peckish - with so much to do and see, your sugar levels may end up rather low. If this happens, I recommend you pay a visit to the Sweet Shop!

If you follow DF'82, you will know that I have a very sweet tooth. And it looks like this could be a great place to buy something that fits that bill.

Finish Up

Visiting World Bazaar in Tokyo Disneyland, the Asian equivalent to Main Street U.S.A., is just as thrilling as any other Disney park. But sometimes I just feel like I am not quite carrying myself as a Princess should do...

Look no further than Harrington Finishing School:

Harrington Finishing School
Everything a Lady Should Know

You can learn about poise, etiquette and how to carry yourself correctly! Perfect for ladies like myself.

The Newest Window on Main Street

We head over to Disneyland's Main Street U.S.A. for a fantastic window update! DF'82 are a huge fan of the windows of all the Disney Parks, and this one is no exception.

Just last week, Alice Davis, Disney Legend, received her very own window on Main Street U.S.A.. Right next to her husband's window.

Small World
Costume Co.

Alice Davis

Seamstress to the Stars

Alice is possibly best known for her costumes for it's a small world;

And perhaps the most loved costume of all Disney attractions (or perhaps I'm bias) - the Redhead costume from Pirates of the Caribbean.

A beautiful, and welcome, addition to Main Street U.S.A.!

Time To Dance

It's been a while since we wandered down Main Street U.S.A. in Parc Disneyland, so let's revisit one of this Princess's favourite areas!

And I don't know about you, but I fancy some dancing.

Oh look, it's Xavier's Dance School!

The specialise in tap, dance and ballet. Fantastic! Time to get those ballet shoes on, readers.

At Law On The Street

It is about time we pop back over to Main Street U.S.A. in Disneyland Paris, as I suddenly feel the need to visit a lawyer...

As we can see here, this is the best place to find some Attorney's At Law!

Attorneys At Law

Stephen JUGE
Andrew HIBBERT
Joe SHAPIRO

Patents
Wills
Claims

No Claim
No Settlement

Stephen Juge worked as Vice President and General Counsel of Disneyland Paris (then Euro Disney) from November 1987 until March 1996, then becoming the Senior Vice President of the Walt Disney Company (Europe). During his time at Disney he also served as European Legal Counsol and General Counsel, before leaving in 2000.

As the window suggest, Andrew Hibbert also worked in the legal profession with Euro Disney SCA from 1990 until 1995, as Vice-President, Legal Affairs, Deputy General Counsel.

Possibly the more well known of the names on this window, Joe Shapiro was the Euro Disney General Counsel and main negotiator for the (then Euro Disney) Disneyland Paris development plans negotiations. In December 1985, the negotiations were underway, spear-headed by Shapiro, after he joined the Company in 1984 as the Company's legal department head. Joe unfortunately died in 1999 of non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma.

This window is a great tribute to three men who helped shape the park we see today, albeit in a more legal sense!

Psychics on the Street

It's been a while since we looked at a window on Main Street U.S.A. over at Disneyland Paris, so today we are going to do just that!

Dick Nunis
Consultant At Large
World Famous Psychic

Predicts Your Future
Knows Your Past

Open House

Many a Disney Geek will know of and about Dick Nunis, who this window was dedicated for. Nunis started working for Disneyland in its opening year, 1955, and continued working for the Walt Disney Company until his retirement in 1999.

Amongst the many roles he played in the company, he was head of Park Operations for Disneyland, helped develop Walt Disney World and later became executive Vice President of both theme parks. For Disneyland Paris, or Euro Disney as it was, Dick was part of the consultation plans whilst being a member of the Walt Disney Productions Board of Directors.

You can read more about this Disney Legend here.

Through the Stained Glass

When thinking about Disneyland Paris, and mentioning stained glass windows, you could think about the beautiful Sleeping Beauty images within le Chateau, or the windows in the Pinocchio restaurant. But today, we head over to Auberge du Cendrillon restaurant and point out an often overlooked window in the reception area.

A nice homage to the pumpkins which eventually turned into Cinderella's beautiful coach (which can be seen outside the restaurant, also!). If you want to know what dining at the restaurant is like, read my review from earlier in the year.

Brothers In Business

When visiting Main Street U.S.A. in Disneyland Paris, you'll see many kinds of businesses. If you're a regular visitor to DF'82, you will know how much we love to explore the windows advertising these businesses!

Today, we pay a small visit to a shop which is on our level - literally: Bixby Brothers.

Selling all kinds of items for guests, the shop is not limited to only items beginning with 'B'!

As you can see, they also provide
Fine Accessories
for Ladies and Gentlemen

Spiffing!

Keen for Investment

During these difficult economic times throughout most of the world, I thought it was appropriate to have a look at this specific window on Main Street U.S.A., Disneyland Paris.

Net, Gross,
Forsgren & Green

Counselors of Investment

John Forsgren   Judson Green

"Put Your Money Where The Mouse Is"

What a fantastic window - that last line is probably overlooked by the majority of Parc Disneyland guests, but it is truly Imagineering having a good laugh!

John Forsgren was the Vice President and Treasurer of Euro Disney from 1986 to 1990. He was then promoted to Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Office of Euro Disney until 1994.

Judson Green, similarly involved in the financial side of the organisation, was the Chief Financial Officer of Disney Theme Parks from 1989 to 1991. He then became the President of Disney Theme Parks and Resort Division, holding that post until 1999. Part of Forsgren's work included expanding the Disney Company through the Disney Cruise Line, Tokyo Disneyland and Disneyland Paris (then, Euro Disney).

Two truly financially minded men who helped shape the Walt Disney Company's Theme Park Divisions in the early 1990s.

I'm A Lady

Although there are probably plenty of Disney blogs that have looked at the windows of Walt Disney World, and Disneyland, DF'82 still enjoys visiting these windows of their Main Street U.S.A.. Every now and then we will pop over to our American neighbours and have a look at what their windows have to offer!

For example, today we are visiting the original Main Street U.S.A. and happen to need some lady fashions...

Look no further than:
Milady Fashions Renie
Dressmaking
Hemstitching
& Picoting

Beautiful!

Cooking a Storm

When you are looking for fun experiences in Main Street U.S.A., you might decide to take some cooking classes. And if you do want to go ahead with these classes, then where better than the Creme de la Creme Cooking College:
We can have French Cuisine lessons there - c'est fantastique!

Doctors of All Kinds

Last month DF'82 looked at getting some gardening supplies from Conrads. Today, we pop back to that window, and attempt to get a doctor.

Not your usual doctor, of course. But maybe one that could help us with our horticultural needs...

Daniel Branchoff
Tree Surgeon

Excellent! Just what we were looking for. And with a name like 'Branch-off', is it really any wonder he went into that line of work?

Different Kind Of Windows

Today we head back to Main Street U.S.A in Disneyland Paris, and take a look at a different kind of window. The windows of the Main Street U.S.A. train stations (or the Euro Disneyland Rail depot).

A beautiful form of detailing, which I imagine is often - and wrongly - overlooked by the average guest, is the stained glass windows above the entryway to Parc Disneyland. Each section in the window represents a different weegie (or focus-point) within the various lands of the Parc.

Can you make out what each stained glass represents?

The pirate ship from Adventureland and Skull Rock.

Sleeping Beauty's Castle (le Chateau de la Belle au Bois Dormant) - the gateway to Fantasyland from Main Street U.S.A.

The Riverboat(s) from Thunder Mesa, Frontierland.

The Orbitron, in Discoveryland, and the gateway to other planets.

Each window highlights a different gateway to the lands of the Parc, just like the train station itself is a gateway to Main Street U.S.A.

Deal or No Deal

It's been a while since DF'82 has visited the named windows of Main Street U.S.A. in Disneyland Paris. Today, we have a look at a real deal of a window!

Big Deal

General Supplies

Paul Mullée
Herb Schley

Looks like we should be able to get some supplies at a great deal in this place!

Unfortunately, I cannot find any information relating to Mullée or Schley with regards to Disneyland Paris. Maybe some of the DF'82 readers can help us out? Leave your ideas in the comments section!

The Dentist's Adventure

One of the first posts here on DF'82 we looked at Dr. Bitz the dentist in Disneyland Paris - and it is still one of my favourite areas of the park!

If you head over to Westernland in Tokyo Disneyland, you may find another Dentist, but with an equally interesting name...

Painless Dentist
Dr. I. Teeth

He, or she, sounds like a very interesting dentist. Let's hope,  however, we don't need to pay them a visit during our trip to Tokyo!

Buy Your Veg Here

There are plenty of different businesses situated throughout and just-off Main Street U.S.A. in Disneyland Paris. Last week we had a look at a great place to purchase various foods and drink. Today, we will have a look at another 'natural' business.

Conrads
Seeds &
Garden Supplies

Growers
Vegetables
Trees
See Our Catalog

This looks like a great place to purchase some fresh and organic vegetables, or perhaps the seeds needed to grow our own! Maybe we can purchase an Orange Tree or two.

Sailing the Magic Kingdom

At the beginning of last year, we visited the window of Roy E. Disney in Parc Disneyland, Paris. Today, we visit another window dedicated to Roy, this time in the Magic Kingdom, Walt Disney World.

Roy E. Disney
Specializing in the
Gentlemanly Sport of
Racing at Sea

Aboard the Ketch
Peregina

A beautiful window for an extraordinary man, celebrating one of his true loves of sailing!
