Troops To The Ready

When you visit Toy Story Playland in Disneyland Paris, there are so many sites and attractions to take in and enjoy. For example, the brilliant yet simple Toy Soldier Parachute Drop.

As you can see, the small capsules take six persons into the air, and slowly drop you to the ground, much like the toy soldiers in Andy's bedroom! But look closely to the hut nearby, and you will find the name of these troopers.

Flying Skies

A fantastic piece of Disney Detail lies within Toy Story Playland, in the Walt Disney Studios, Paris.

This flyer is named Blue Sky 59, relating to the Blue Sky process of Imagineering, in which ideas are brainstormed and sketched.

Fly Off, Soldiers

The entrance to Toy Soldier Parachute Drop, in Toy Story Playland, Walt Disney Studios, you can see one of Andy's toy planes welcoming us!

As you can see, from the markings on the plane, this definitely belongs to Andy!

But take a closer look at the registration on the aircraft.

Outside the Box

We've looked at the Slinky Dog's ZigZag Spin before here at DF'82, but today we take a closer look at the line area for the attraction.

As you can see, we are all the size of toys and because of this, we're stepping inside the box to get ready to ride this fun attraction!

How To Slink

When you pick up your Slinky ZigZag Spin, you might need to figure out how to assemble the game.

No need to worry - it comes complete with instructions!

Make sure to follow the figures and steps, otherwise it might not turn out exactly as expected.

Through to the Other Side

After yesterday's look at the barrel of fun to be found in Toy Story Playland, we step through the barrel to see what is on the other side...

Just another example of how Disney Imagineers change the theming as you step out of one land and into another.

Perhaps this is some preparation for an area themed around the Disney Pixar movie Ratatouille?

Only time will tell.

Barrel of Fun

You can't have too much fun when you visit Walt Disney Studios in Paris. In fact, you can have a barrel of fun!

One of the main entrances to Toy Story Playland in Paris is through a tub of Barrel of Monkeys.

And watch out for some of the Barrel of Monkeys playing around overhead!

Night Time Racing

To top-off our 45 minutes in the RC Racer queue (which strangely felt like 3 days), we take a look at the queue area in the evening.

A great way to highlight some of the details that are so-often overlooked in the daylight hours.

Build Your Own Racer

As the title suggests, when you are at the final area of the RC Racer queue, and almost ready to board the Racer Coaster, you can spend some time deciding how to make your own Racer.

As you can see, the walls have various parts that can be put together to help build your own toy car.

Then you'll be all set to have a ride on RC Racer.

Time To Fuel Up

As we get closer to the main attraction and 'rollercoaster' of RC Racer, we pass buy a gas station with a familiar theme around it.

Yes, as you can see, if you need to make a pit-stop on your way to the main attraction, fill up on some Dinoco Fuel!

Looks like RC is getting a top-up himself.

Get Set To Race

RC Racer is part of the new Toy Story Playland area of Walt Disney Studios in Disneyland Paris. A fun attraction, we briefly looked at here at DF'82 a few months ago.

We head back to the attraction to have a look at possibly one of the most fun areas of the new 'land - the queue for RC Racer! And as the rider has a slow guest turnaround, you may spend quite a while in this line before you can experience the fun of the Racer for yourself...

As we enter, we see we are about to follow our own Racer-style track.

Winding through the queue is great fun, for adults and children a-like! Take some time to enjoy the curves and bends, as you get closer to the hold building.

Also take some time to appreciate the shaping of the trees, all made to feel like you are a small RC Racer car, winding around traffic cones.

Bone Signs

Toy Story Playland in the Walt Disney Studios, Paris, has to be one of the most fun areas to explore. The theming in the newest 'land of the Studios is top notch, and a welcome addition to the Park.

Take, for example, entering the queue area of Slinky Dog's ZigZag Spin is a treat in itself. But as you zigzag your way through the queue, you may notice the usual Warning and Safety signs scattered throughout. But even these signs are themed to match the experience of the attraction.

I don't think this Princess has a bone to pick with the Imagineers over this sign!

This shot of the parachutes show us what the attraction is like just before the Toy Soldiers decide to descend to the ground of the Walt Disney Studios.

Slink Away

We looked at the entrance to Slinky Dog's ZigZag Spin earlier in the week, and today we head back to have a look at the outside of the attraction.

As we are all the size of toys in Toy Story Playland, Walt Disney Studios, when we visit the ZigZag spin, we are entering a Collector's Edition of the Slinky Dog!

Logs in Playland

One of the most exciting places to explore in Walt Disney Studios, Paris, is Toy Story Playland. The detail that has gone into the area is fantastic for a Disney Geek like myself. And it is also a place that all guests can appreciate and enjoy without needing to notice every detail!

One detail,  however, that may be overlooked by a lot of guests is the entrance to Slinky Dog ZigZag Spin:

As you can see, the imagineers managed to gather some Lincoln Logs to welcome us to Slinky Dog's attraction! Great detailing, although unfortunately Lincoln Logs are not widely known, or available, in Europe.

The Domino Effect

In addition to the K-Nex and Tinker Toys the Imaingeers used to build Toy Story Playland in Walt Disney Studios, they also used another popular toy from our childhood.

The domino! Thus, creating a kind of domino effect throughout the Playland.

Slinking Off

After our look at Slinky Dog ZigZag spin last week, we thought that perhaps Slinky Dog was searching for a bone or two.

However, don't forget that Slinky is a dog, so perhaps he is just chasing his tail?

After yesterday's Race Off with RC, we take a step back to have a look at the RC Racer in its full glory.

But wait a minute, what's that?

Of course, its the Pixar ball! Made famous in the Short 'Luxo Jr', the Pixar ball can be seen in many Pixar animations. And now, it's appearing in Walt Disney Studios!

Phew, it's been a busy few days over at Toy Story Playland. And today we head over to RC Racer, where the infamous car from Toy Story allows us to experience some driving fun!

Using left overs from a Scalextric set, or maybe from some Hot Wheels, RC makes our stomach flip as we go up and down, back and forth!

Parachuting Off

The excellent Toy Soldier Parachute Drop is a great attraction for (almost!) all the family in the Walt Disney Studios.

As you can see, its possibly not the best attraction for those with a fear of heights or a sensitive stomach. The Toy Soldiers take us high in the air, and then allow us to drop! Don't worry - it's not the Tower of Terror!

But how do the Imagineers welcome us to this attraction? Well, they had some left over Toy Soldier Planes, so why not use that?
