Ninth Wonder of the World

A staple attraction of Fantasyland in Paris is the brilliant Dumbo ride. Always popular, the setting for the ride in Paris, especially, is attractive and central. But make sure you notice the carriage sitting next to the attraction, advertising Dumbo the Flying Elephant!

All Hail King Triton!

If you are lucky enough to visit Tokyo DisneySea, be sure to experience some time in Ariel's Grotto. Perhaps one of the most beautiful parts of the park, it may appear to be aimed more at the younger Disney guest. But there is enough interesting parts inside, as well as a fantastic The Little Mermaid show, which will entertain all ages.

Just take a look at this gorgeous sculpture as you enter Triton's Kingdom.

And look - there's a plaque! You know how this Princess loves a good plaque. Let's take a closer look...

By Royal Proclamation

To all who come to my underwater kingdom, welcome. I hereby invite my guests from the human world to magically enter the realm of my daughter Ariel and the Merfolk, to experience the wonders of life under the sea.

His Royal Majesty,
Triton

Oranges and Lemons

Well, the title is a little bit misleading, as we are only interested in oranges here at DF'82 today. Or - to be more accurate - where some of the best oranges come from. Just take a look at the Delicious Sweets confectionery and beverage spot on Main Street U.S.A., Disneyland Paris.

I quite fancy some fudge, or maybe a nice hot chocolate! But wait, let's have a closer look - it appears there may be a way to get to Florida and have some nice oranges and sun.

Excellent - we must book a trip today! A nice nod to that 'other' Disney Park in Florida, I'm sure.

Enjoying a Moment...With Dumbo

It's time to visit Fantasyland in Disneyland Paris, and enjoy a moment through the trees, waiting for Dumbo to take to the skies!

Triton Welcomes You

With the recent expansion to Fantasyland in Walt Disney World, and how eager this Princess is to visit it, I am reminded of the beautiful area called Ariel's Grotto in Tokyo DisneySea.

Isn't it beautiful?

And once inside, you will see this beautiful sign from Triton, welcoming you to Triton's Kingdom!

A Fresh Welcome

Earlier this year, Disney's California Adventure was re-dedicated and became a brand new park! Not only was this exciting for Disney fans and Disneyland Resort visitors, but for this Princess it meant there was a brand new plaque!

As you can see, the plaque is situated on the new flag pole as you enter California Adventure. Let's have a closer look:

Disney California Adventure
To all who come to this place of dreams...Welcome!

Disney California Adventure celebrates the spirit of optimism and the promise of endless opportunities, ignited by the imaginations of daring dreamers, such as Walt Disney and those like him who changed - and were forever changed by - the Golden State. This unique place embraces the richness and diversity of California...its land, its people, its stories and, above all, the dreamers it continues to inspire.

She's Watching

When wandering around Fantasyland in Disneyland Paris, be sure to keep a weathered eye out for any strange happenings...

For instance, you may be walking past the Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs attraction and feel like, well, like someone's watching you.

Take a closer look and you might find it's true.

Another Warm Welcome

We looked at Adventureland in Tokyo Disneyland earlier this week - but as another week draws to a close, we have a warm welcome waiting for us in Frontierland in Disneyland Paris.

Although what's that, over on the right?

Oh goodness, it looks like there might be some locals, waiting to pounce on us as we enter Frontierland! I hope that they are peaceful. If we walk quietly past the tepees, I'm sure we'll be fine...

Flying Skies

A fantastic piece of Disney Detail lies within Toy Story Playland, in the Walt Disney Studios, Paris.

This flyer is named Blue Sky 59, relating to the Blue Sky process of Imagineering, in which ideas are brainstormed and sketched.

Life Of An Endicott

It's about time we looked at another plaque featured in the Disney theme parks. This one is placed in the American Waterfront area of Tokyo DisneySea.

The New York City Preservation Society was founded by Miss Beatrice Rose Endicott. She and the Society decided to open up the Hotel Hightower (nicknamed the Tower of Terror, by locals) for guided tours, and redevelop the area around the Hotel.

Miss Endicott was the daughter of Cornelius Endicott II, and this plaque is dedicated to him:

It is my fervent hope that
future generations will long associate
the Endicott name
not merely with steel mines,
gold mines and railroads
but with global shipping as well

Cornelius Endicott, II
1887

Cornelius Endicott II was a powerful man in the American Waterfront, a rival to Harrison Hightower, and owned the S.S. Columbia. He wished to demolish Hotel Hightower, and Miss Beatrice Rose decided to preserve the Hotel in response to her father's wish to demolish the beautiful and historic building.

It's World Famous

The queue area of Radiator Springs' Racers in Disney's California Adventure is fantastic. And with the recent popularity of Cars Land, many people get to experience the queue in its entirity!

But be sure to check out the popular area welcoming you to Stanley's Oasis.

There is a sign behind, which is welcoming us all to Radiator Springs!

Postcards from Afar

No, not postcards from Jafar! Although those may end up rather terrifying...I don't like snakes...

But I digress! We have some more postcards from Tokyo Disney Resort, and their recent joyful celebrations.

Such as Tokyo DisneySea's 11th Anniversary.

Need Your Bones Set?

Frontierland in Disneyland Paris is just as full of hidden treasures as anywhere else in the resort. Although this one, situated at the Last Chance Cafe, may be a different kind of treasure...

As you can see, Doc Holliday specialises in some, well, cowboy related injuries and ailments.

The entrance to Toy Soldier Parachute Drop, in Toy Story Playland, Walt Disney Studios, you can see one of Andy's toy planes welcoming us!

As you can see, from the markings on the plane, this definitely belongs to Andy!

But take a closer look at the registration on the aircraft.

Time For A Rental

When visiting Main Street U.S.A. in Disneyland Paris, you may be in need of a rental of sorts. Perhaps you would like a top of the range pushchair, or a beautiful pram?

Check out the Roll-a-Long Rentals, on the right hand side of Town Square. As Hertz is the proud sponsor, I'm sure you can get some fantastic models!

As we get closer to the winter months, and Christmas is round the corner, we miss the summer that we had. If we were lucky enough to have one!

Let's enjoy a summer night in Disneyland Paris, in Frontierland...although this could easily be a night in the middle of December!

Landscaping of Paris

Disneyland Paris have a beautiful new nightime spectacular, called Disney Dreams! The show combines fireworks, water and music to show in front - and on - the Castle in the evening.

Of course, this kind of show needs a base near the Castle, so that the music, fireworks, and everything else can be cheoreographed to perfection! This building may appear like it houses the landscaping department, but I'm sure the big cheese, Mickey Mouse, has some other use for it...

But, it may just be the Parks Landscaping Department!

A Welcome To The End

To round off the previous ten days, or so, of fun (and frightening!) in Frontierland, I thought it would be nice to remind us of the beautiful plaque which welcomes all to Frontierland.

The frontier of the Far West
was a ragged landscape
of great expectations and grand illusions,
where dreams rode wild,
and simple lives became legends.

As you pass through these gates,
follow the footsteps of the pioneers...
and dream.

Welcome to FRONTIERLAND

Check Out The Roundtable

No, it's not part of the Knights of the Roundtable, but it's the next best thing! I generally don't use the blog to make comments about news articles, or major happenings at the Walt Disney Company. Now and then, I will bring to light new developments for Disneyland Paris specifically, but I try to stay away from Breaking News items.

However, my dear friend Ryan over at the Main Street Gazette has invited this Royal Member to join a Roundtable of sorts, where a bunch of us discuss the weekly happenings of Walt Disney World and the people behind it.

Make sure you check out this week's post - it has a great article and viewpoint on the Disney/Lucasfilm purchase this week, which if you are as geeky about these two companys as I am (and much of the Disney community), it's a brilliant read!

Rivering Along

As a sort-of follow-on from the previous looks at Boot Hill, we should take some time to appreciate the area just before Boot Hill, as sailing along the Rivers of America.

You can see that the land is starting to become drier and more sparse, almost dead-like.

Perhaps that's why this frontiersman has left his wagon behind... Rather spooky, don't you think?
