Looking Up At The Mira - Part 1

From the title of this post, regular DF'82 readers will know what this might be about. We've been spending quite a few days looking around the gorgeous Mira Costa hotel, in Tokyo Disney Resort. But now, we enter the lobby and we quote the infamous Hidden Treasure phrase - Always Look Up.

Woah, impressive, right?

This is just another piece of the detail and beauty that Tokyo Disney has for us Disney Geeks. Today and tomorrow we're going to take a closer look at this painting on the ceiling. Any idea what the pictures might be depicting for us? Take a look at the first painting.

It looks like she might be representing the Mediterranean...maybe a harbour... It's Tokyo DisneySea's Mediterranean Harbor!

And below this piece represents American Waterfront.

And the Cape Cod area of the park.

And finally, for today, Mysterious Island.

That one looks just as intense as the land itself!

Join us tomorrow to have a look at some more of these gorgeous pieces of art.

Shop Shop Shop!

Even the shops situated in Tokyo DisneySea Hotel Mira Costa are themed around the rest of the resort!

As you can see, we have Minnie Lisa Sundries, named after the famous Italian painting.

And you also have MickeyAngelo Gifts, named as such to go hand in hand with Minnie Lisa Sundries!

From All Directions

After spending time in the lobby of Mira Costa in Tokyo yesterday, you may decide to head to your room, or back to the entrance.

Well, when you do decide you need to head away you can take one of the exit ways. Just choose your direction...north, south, east, west or anything inbetween.

Into The Dead Centre of the Lobby

The lobby of the Mira Costa, Tokyo Disney Resort, is impressive.
There is a model of a grand ship, showing the strong links this resort has with the sea.

And around this centrepiece, a beautiful sitting area, ready for you to rest your weary sea-legs.

Welcome to the Mira Costa

All this week, DF'82 is going to take a tour around the beautiful Tokyo DisneySea Hotel Mira Costa.

The resort is built to fit in with the theming of Tokyo DisneySea itself, focusing on the Mediterranean Harbor area specifically.

But as you can see from the driveway up to the hotel entrance, this is a very impressive resort! You certainly forget that you are right in the heart of Japan!

Turn On The Waterworks

In front of the restrooms near the Tower of Terror in Tokyo DisneySea, there is an area that is mostly used as a seat whilst families wait to be reunited.

But for us Disney Geeks, this is a beautiful piece of Disney Detail!

Can You Find It?

There are some amazing Hidden Mickeys at Tokyo DisneySea.

Take this wall, for example.

Everytime we passed this wall, people were just standing and staring at it. So we did the same.

Can you find the Hidden Mickey? Scroll down for the result.

Here it is!

Never Grow Up

Never grow up, but Always Look Up!

That could be our motto here at DF'82. But right now, it is appropriate in Disney's Ambassador Hotel, in Tokyo Disney Resort.

It's been a while since we found a new Point Photo in Disneyland Paris...but do not fret! We have found another Photo Point in Frontierland.

Situated in the middle of Thunder Mesa, not far from the Riverboat landing, is this fantastic Point Photo - pointing towards the Phantom Manor!

Looking Around

The World of Disney, Disneyland Paris, is so new that you can still smell the paint!

And speaking of paint, there are some beautiful interior paintings, decorating the Art Deco styled building. Let's take a moment to have a look at some of the beautiful art pieces here at DF'82!

Similarities Across The World

When you pay attention to the Disney Parks, as most of us do, you may start to see some similarities between the different parks. Not necessarily in layout, or the names of the lands, but the beautiful Disney Details we see as we look around.

When you visit Disneyland, California, there is a beautiful water fountain near Sleeping Beauty's castle.

This is a gorgeous piece, fitting in perfectly with the surroundings. But does it look familiar?

Perhaps if we go into le Château de la Belle au Bois Dormant, in Paris (Sleeping Beauty's Castle) and look at her story on the first floor.

A-ha - there it is! A lovely piece, linking the two Disney parks on other sides of the globe.
