Be Sure To Check Out...

It's been quiet here at DF'82 recently, but you can still check out this Princess as part of the Weekly Roundtable at Main Street Gazette.

We'll be back soon!

Most Wonderful Time Of The Year

It's great during the holidays - everyone is happy and busy, and there are always lots going on. Walt Disney World is usually a very busy place, but even more so during the holiday season! Christmas is happening all around the World.

In Fort Wilderness the tree is up.

And the Contemporary resort is also in the Christmas spirit, with a special gingerbread tree...

And a real one outside.

The House of Bread

It wouldn't be the holidays in Walt Disney World without some gingerbread houses!

Take a look at last year's Gingerbread house from the Grand Floridian, famed for also 'housing' a shop where you can buy pieces of gingerbread! Perfect.

Christmas In The Grand

The Grand Floridian is a beautiful  hotel, and during the Holiday season this statement is no exception. It is a beautifully decorated hotel, as you can see from the entryway alone!

Look at those garlands, aren't they fitting with the overall theme of the Resort?

And take a look at the poinsetta-themed trees around the area.

And of course, Christmas wouldn't be the same without some beautiful snow-like animal decor!

The Cops Are Coming

You better watch out the next time you visit Main Street U.S.A., Paris. It turns out that the police are happy to take you away at a moment's notice!

And judging by these convicts in the Main Street Police Dept. Paddy Wagon, they are getting younger and younger!

Dancing With Paris

The gardens in front of the Disneyland Hotel, Paris, are some of the most serene and picturesque areas around the theme parks. And there is usually some beautiful animal topiaries placed here, perfectly fitting in with the Fantasia theme of the Disneyland Hotel.

And for the 20th Anniversary of Paris, Hyacinth Hippo is making her dancing look like a piece of cake!

Troops To The Ready

When you visit Toy Story Playland in Disneyland Paris, there are so many sites and attractions to take in and enjoy. For example, the brilliant yet simple Toy Soldier Parachute Drop.

As you can see, the small capsules take six persons into the air, and slowly drop you to the ground, much like the toy soldiers in Andy's bedroom! But look closely to the hut nearby, and you will find the name of these troopers.

Fort Emery Paratroopers

A great nod to the home of Pixar, Emeryville!

Christmas Cards from DF'82

Around this time of year, many of us are getting ready to send out Christmas Cards to one and all across the world.

Today, DF'82 wish you a very Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, or whatever you celebrate at this time of year.

One Sword to Rule Them All

A staple in Fantasylands around the world is the sword of Excalibur.

Legend has it that Excalibur was the sword of King Arthur, and ownership of said sword may grant the owner the right to rule the Kingdom! As such, it is a truly magical piece of weaponry...

Excalibur
He who succeeds in withdrawing the sword from the stone will be proclaimed King!

This Princess had a go at withdrawing the sword, but decided at the last minute that it might be best to leave it for others, not of Royal blood.

A Quick Bite...At The Last Chance

It's been a while since we had a quick bite at a restaurant in Disneyland Paris, so today we're going to stop by the Last Chance Cafe in Frontierland and see if we can have a wee bite of something tasty!

The cafe is situated around from the entrance to Frontierland, and a nice change to The Lucky Nugget which is also nearby. You can buy some great Western grub, chips and bites, and such. And a good place to grab a beer or a soft drink.

There's not a massive amount of seating, but due to the location there are usually tables emptying regularly. So be sure to stop by and rest your weary cowboy boots!

Sell, Sell, Sell

In case you are wondering what Luigi's Casa Della Tires sells at Disney's California Adventure, look no further.

Luigi Sells
"Only The Best"

Such tyres as Fettuccini, Show Stopper, Glamour Grip, Safety Treads, Tortellini, Glidewell and the infamous Lightyear Radials.

Luigi knows what you want!

Another Welcome To Adventure

Amongst the many reasons I love Disneyland Paris, the many different ways to enter the different lands is a big part of my love for this Parc. There are various unique entrances, and exits, that it is easy to come across new pathways - or just to simply lose yourself in a new land!

Take, for example, when you pass from Fantasyland to Adventureland. This is the entryway that will greet you.

Perfectly fitting in with Fantasyland, you have no doubt that you are leaving a 'land and entering a new!

Which Way To Exit

After visiting the Phantom Manor in Disneyland Paris, you will be given a choice of sorts when you leave the attraction.

You can decide to exit, or Sortie, or visit the poor souls in Boot Hill. The choice, is yours.

Ninth Wonder of the World

A staple attraction of Fantasyland in Paris is the brilliant Dumbo ride. Always popular, the setting for the ride in Paris, especially, is attractive and central. But make sure you notice the carriage sitting next to the attraction, advertising Dumbo the Flying Elephant!

All Hail King Triton!

If you are lucky enough to visit Tokyo DisneySea, be sure to experience some time in Ariel's Grotto. Perhaps one of the most beautiful parts of the park, it may appear to be aimed more at the younger Disney guest. But there is enough interesting parts inside, as well as a fantastic The Little Mermaid show, which will entertain all ages.

Just take a look at this gorgeous sculpture as you enter Triton's Kingdom.

And look - there's a plaque! You know how this Princess loves a good plaque. Let's take a closer look...

By Royal Proclamation

To all who come to my underwater kingdom, welcome. I hereby invite my guests from the human world to magically enter the realm of my daughter Ariel and the Merfolk, to experience the wonders of life under the sea.

His Royal Majesty,
Triton

Oranges and Lemons

Well, the title is a little bit misleading, as we are only interested in oranges here at DF'82 today. Or - to be more accurate - where some of the best oranges come from. Just take a look at the Delicious Sweets confectionery and beverage spot on Main Street U.S.A., Disneyland Paris.

I quite fancy some fudge, or maybe a nice hot chocolate! But wait, let's have a closer look - it appears there may be a way to get to Florida and have some nice oranges and sun.

Excellent - we must book a trip today! A nice nod to that 'other' Disney Park in Florida, I'm sure.

Enjoying a Moment...With Dumbo

It's time to visit Fantasyland in Disneyland Paris, and enjoy a moment through the trees, waiting for Dumbo to take to the skies!

Triton Welcomes You

With the recent expansion to Fantasyland in Walt Disney World, and how eager this Princess is to visit it, I am reminded of the beautiful area called Ariel's Grotto in Tokyo DisneySea.

Isn't it beautiful?

And once inside, you will see this beautiful sign from Triton, welcoming you to Triton's Kingdom!

A Fresh Welcome

Earlier this year, Disney's California Adventure was re-dedicated and became a brand new park! Not only was this exciting for Disney fans and Disneyland Resort visitors, but for this Princess it meant there was a brand new plaque!

As you can see, the plaque is situated on the new flag pole as you enter California Adventure. Let's have a closer look:

Disney California Adventure
To all who come to this place of dreams...Welcome!

Disney California Adventure celebrates the spirit of optimism and the promise of endless opportunities, ignited by the imaginations of daring dreamers, such as Walt Disney and those like him who changed - and were forever changed by - the Golden State. This unique place embraces the richness and diversity of California...its land, its people, its stories and, above all, the dreamers it continues to inspire.

She's Watching

When wandering around Fantasyland in Disneyland Paris, be sure to keep a weathered eye out for any strange happenings...

For instance, you may be walking past the Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs attraction and feel like, well, like someone's watching you.

Take a closer look and you might find it's true.
