What Fate Has In Store

The Jungle Cruise is one of the best attractions in Magic Kingdom for theming. From outside the attraction, to the queue, and to the attentiveness of the skippers, it is a classic and fun part of Adventureland.

Once the ride is over, I imagine there isn't many people that take time to look around - everyone is eager to get to the next part of the park! But if you look closely, you will see a list of all the boats that are, and have been, part of the Cruise. And if you look carefully, you may see one named after your very own Princess Fiona.

Winter in Florida?

In honour of all those lucky people heading to MouseFest for this weekend, I thought it would be nice to have a little look at Walt Disney World in the holiday season. And where better to start at than Main Street USA? For all of you who have ever wondered whether it snows in Florida, have a look at this picture...

Of course, during my brief period living in Florida for the winter, one day there was actual real snow - but it only lasted a minute or two! And this snow happens in the Magic Kingdom during the Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Parties, and the week before Christmas itself. A magical time of year in the parks, with the decorations everywhere.

Oh, I just love Magic Kingdom Holidays! With the magical music in the air, I just love standing in front of the train station looking up at the Christmas tree.

During the Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, however, there is plenty of things to do! You can have a look at the party decorations, catch a parade or a show, or watch the spectacular Holiday Wishes Fireworks display. Me? I love to do all that - and meet a character, or have some hot chocolate too (doesn't it always come back to food?)!

The Devil's In The Details

Let's stay out of the dark for the time being, and have a look at one of the other fantastic aspects of the Mickey's Not So Scary Party - the Cast Members. This years Cast Members were very differently dressed from the visiting public - so you couldn't miss them in a crowd.

And don't forget that Goofy's Candy Company are the proud sponsors of the Halloween festivities. You can trick or treat for delicious candies - or sweeties, as we say in the UK - all over the park. If you had been there 2 years ago, maybe a special Princess would have been helping you with your candy...

Can You Remind Me What Time Of Year It Is?

Once we make it to the end of Main Street USA - in the daylight, don't worry people! - it may get a little confusing as to what time of year it is exactly. Yes, there are a lot of pumpkins, but maybe it's just harvest-time? Or perhaps it's a summer ritual in some countries.

But when we reach the Castle Hub we are greeted with some familiar faces in some un-familiar costumes. Of course, it's Halloween time! That explains characters in their costumes... Enjoy!

What Time (of Year) Is It?

One of the great things about being Disney around any holiday time, is how the parks are decorated and themed. And Halloween is no exception!

On my recent visit to Walt Disney World, the Magic Kingdom looked beautiful all dressed up for the Halloween festivities. Pumpkins and banners adorned the various shops and eateries up and down the Main Street USA - more on that in future posts!

Even a glance at Cinderella's Castle, you can't escape what time of year it is. Can you spot the Halloween decoration?
