Beauty of the Storybook

Le Pays des Contes de Fées has been looked at here on DF'82 before, about a year ago actually! But I think it's about time we re-visit the beautiful attraction, and perhaps highlight some of the beauty for any new readers.

It's a beautiful journey through the land of storybooks and fairy tales, and even though it is mainly aimed at young children, it is a great attraction for the entire family!

Journey Through Fairytales

There is a small area of Fantasyland in Disneyland Paris, which is hidden almost at the back of the land and the Parc. It is a beautiful area which holds two fantastic family attractions: Casey Jr - le Petit Train du Cirque (Casey Jr's Circus Train) and le Pays des Contes de Fées.

The latter is a beautiful boat ride through Storybookland. We had a look at the ride itself briefly here at DF'82 before, but I wanted to head back over to have a look at the beauty of the actual loading/docking area.

As with all Disney Details, even the area we board the boats have colourful, fairytale-like colours and designs.

With the boats looking like they just came out of a storybook as well!

And the sign for the attraction, itself a book, placed high on children's building blocks.

As we always say here in DF'82, take time to look all around you if you can when you visit a Disney Park. It's all there as a feast for the eyes!
We will visit le Pays in future posts, as I think the entire ride is something to really enjoy.

Let's Tell A Story

Disneyland Paris can be one of the most peaceful of all the Disney Parks, especially on quiet evenings or during parades. It can also be very busy! But there are many rides and nooks-and-crannies of the park where you can really feel away from it all.

Disneyland Paris' Storybook Land

One of my favourite peaceful attractions is the Storybook Land canal boats - more locally known as Le Pays Des Contes de Fées. Unless it's raining, that is! You may know that there is another Storybook Land Canal Boats attraction in Disneyland, California, which uses guides to take you round the canal. In Paris, however, the boats are guide-less, and tour the different, mainly European, fairy tales magically.

There are 16 different boats, with each boat holding around 16 guests. The ride lasts around 5 minutes, and takes you through the following different stories:

  • Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs
  • Hansel & Gretel
  • The Little Mermaid
  • Fantasia
  • Peter and the Wolf
  • Disneyland Paris' Storybook Land
  • Pinocchio
  • Rapunzel
  • Fantasia's "Night on Bald Mountain"
  • Sword in the Stone
  • Beauty & The Beast
  • Return to Oz
