Cinderella's Coach

If you are passing your time in Fantasyland, perhaps during an early morning visit, be sure to check out the area of Auberge de Cendrillon. By checking the area around the restaurant, you will meet Cinderella's beautiful carriage.

As you can see, le Carrosse de Cendrillon is kept in very good condition, ready for Cinderella's next Royal visit. And there is a plaque next to the carriage (and you all know DF'82 loves a plaque!):

With some words and a magic wand, a simple pumpkin will transform into a sumptuous coach, to take Cinderella to the princely ball.

Further Stories of Cinderella

We revist Auberge de Cendrillon in Disneyland Paris, to have a look at another couple of Cinderella story portraits.

The first one is a tapestry we are introduced to when we enter the restaurant, and meet Cinderella before being seated.

It reads:

Il etait une fois, dans un pays lointain, un royaume paisible, prospere et riche de traditions et de legendes.
(Once upon a time in a land far-far away, [there was] a peaceful kingdom, prosperous and rich in traditions and legends)

Gus and Jaq also appear to welcome us to the start of the story.

Inside the restaurant, however, we see another portrait from one of the more memorable scenes of the film.

When Cinderella tries on - and fits! - the Glass Slipper. C'est superbe!

Cinderella's Fountain

Taking a look at some more secret and hidden corners of Parc Disneyland, I'd like to show you this beautiful part of the park. It's not really a secret, and it's definitely not hidden, but I think it is gorgeous. Whilst it's not unique, the beautiful Cinderella Wishing Fountain lies in the shadow of Sleeping Beauty's Castle, in Fantasyland, next to le Auberge du Cendrillion, which we discussed in an earlier post.

Depicting Cinderella in her 'rags', the fountain shows her sitting with her friends the animals, in a delicate pose. My mum and I were lucky enough to pass this fountain during a quiet time - and the area just felt so peaceful and content. Because we were there during the winter there was no water in the fountain, but it was still kept in excellent condition.

Underneath the fountain is this beautiful plaque. Roughly translated, it reads:

"Cinderella's Fountain

'A dream is a wish your heart makes'

This fountain shows Cinderella and her friends, inspired by the story of Perrault and the classic by Walt Disney"

Secret Corners of the Parks

I feel bad for not writing anything here for so long - I'm going to try my best to keep this up-to-date more. I'm going to start with a little series I'll call 'Secret Corners of the Parks', highlighting some spots that I love in the Disney parks I've been lucky enough to visit.

This first stop in our series is from Disneyland Parc, Paris. Personally, I find this park one of the most attaractive and fantastical parks of all the Magic Kingdoms. I love to walk around this park and just take it all in. My most recent trip, with my parents, I spent a lot of mornings - getting up first, bright and early - and heading to the park, to have a walk around and explore.
First thing in the morning, the areas around the park are usually pretty quiet, especially the restaurants in and around Fantasyland (as they're not open). I found the beautiful Auberge de Cendrillon hidden behind the Castle, complete with Cinderella's carriage.

Of course, it must be nice for Cinderella to look out her restaurant at Sleeping Beauty's castle...
