Ticket To...Walt Disney Studios

Now, we've walked across the front of the Disneyland Hotel, across the courtyard to the Walt Disney Studios, the second park in the Disneyland Resort Paris. The Studios were opened on March 16th 2002, and have certainly improved with time. There's so much more to do now than there originally was! Of course, it is the smallest of all the Disney parks, but I'm sure we can still spend a lot of time here and have a lot of fun.
So, shall we pick up a map? This way we have one of each park, helping us decide the best things to do and see!

Of course, we need to check the times guide, as there are plenty of shows that happen at Walt Disney Studios. We really shouldn't miss the parade, as I hear it may soon be replaced by the Stars and Motor Cars parade from Walt Disney World. And while we're at it, shall we grab a times guide for the Disneyland Park? They have them available too.
So, let's have a look at the Walt Disney Studios park: Of course, the Tower of Terror is now open and I know that we don't want to miss that! And there's now a new Stitch Live! attraction too - but there are still plenty original attractions and shows that we can have a look at while we spend the day in the Resort. However, it being this time of year, there are plenty of sunny spells and showers, so maybe we should go and have a walk around the rest of the Resort and look at some of the shops and hotels? That way, if there are some rain showers we can keep ourselves dry!

Stick your tickets in your fastpass wallet, and let's go! Don't worry, we'll be back to Walt Disney Studios very soon...

Ticket to...Interlude

As to my busy 'personal life' schedule, today's post is a brief interlude in the Ticket to Disneyland Resort Paris series. Don't worry - I'm not straying too far away from this, and you should keep a hold of your ticket, as you're going to need it tomorrow!

But, as you walk across from Disneyland Park to the Walt Disney Studios, passing underneath Hotel Disneyland (which we'll look at later, when we need a break from the Parks), you notice this beautiful statue:
The statue is one of Mickey's Sorcerer's wand, which stands in dedication to the Make-A-Wish foundation. It's always nice to stop and have a look at the small things that have a larger importance in Disneyland.

Ticket To... Disneyland Park

Welcome to the Disneyland Resort Paris, and the Disneyland Park - or Parc Disneyland. The original of the Parks in the Paris Resort and opened on April 12th 1992. Of course, the Resort was firstly called EuroDisney, and had it's name changed in 1995 - attempting to move away from the negative connotations of 'Euro'.

So, when you enter the Park, don't forget to pick up a map. This will help you find your way around the park.

Of course, most Magic Kingdom parks are very similar to each other, but there are always alleyways and attractions placed in areas that will put you out of a stride! Shall we have a look at the map, just so we know our way around?

Okay, so most of the lands are similar to the other Magic Kingdoms, that means it shouldn't be too hard to get around the park. Of course, Discoveryland is there in place of Tomorrowland; and there is no Mickey's Toontown or similar land. And look how big Fantasyland is! If you're anything like me, you can't wait to get into the Park and explore...but maybe we should have a look at the other Park in the Resort? Just so we can know exactly what we can do in the Disneyland Resort Paris - we don't want to miss out anything!

Keep a hold of that ticket, and join me tomorrow when we have a look at the Park across the way.

Please Have Your Tickets Ready...

I'm back after a few days away - and I hope you all didn't miss me too much! I have a few busy days ahead of me, due to work and personal commitments, but I thought that I could introduce a new series to you all - your own, personal, Ticket to Disneyland Resort Paris. Over the next couple of days, I'm going to introduce you to each park, the surrounding area, the hotels and the resort in general. If there is anything specific you would like me to focus on, please leave me a comment and I'll see what you can do!

A very quick introduction for you all is this handout, given at check-in to any resort, showing a small plan of the Resort area. I guess this is quite a good place to start!
And tomorrow, we're going to continue with a quick overview of the origins of Disneyland Paris - Parc Disneyland. So, don't forget to grab your virtual ticket and join us again for this overview.

Something For The Weekend

Well, first off, apologies for no post yesterday. Sometimes real life gets in the way - it's annoying, isn't it? And I also have to apologise that there won't be any posts until Monday - I'm going away for the weekend, and won't have any access to the Internet or computers! So, to make up for it, I made up a wallpaper (sorry there are only 4 size choices) from the recent It's A Small World posts. I would like to share a video too, but You Tube is being temperamental and I can't get it up yet - fingers crossed I do before my trip!

Once again, click on link which will open in new window. Then, right click and choose 'Save As' or 'Set as Background'. Enjoy!

Sailing Through The Finale

Today is the last of my It's A Small World - Disneyland Paris posts. And we enter the final two rooms of the attraction - the Americas and the White Room. Those of you have kept up-to-date with the proposed (and possible) changes to the original Disneyland attraction will know that there is a chance that an Americas room could be added. The Disneyland Paris IASW differs from the current California and Florida rides by including an Americas room.

We first travel through South America: Mexico, Columbia, Brazil, etc. Showing the customs and the clothing of the respective areas.

And then enter a room dedicated to North America - Canada and the United States of America. Showing the Rockies, the Wild West, New York and Hollywood. It really is a fantastic room, and these photos don't do it justice!
Leaving the Americas, we enter the final room - the beautiful White Room, a tradition of It's A Small World and a room bringing together all the nationalities in a vision of peacefulness. After travelling through the various nations singing the famous ride theme tune, the final room has the tune sung in French, German and English. This differs from the other attractions in the world, which sing the final tune in their local language.

The Wonders of A Small World

Continuing on from yesterday's post, here are some more pictures from the beautiful It's A Small World in Disneyland Paris. Enjoy!

This is my favourite part of any IASW anywhere - the hoola dancing girls! I love these girls, and I love to spot them every time I go in a new IASW attraction. I always like to see if one isn't working (as usually in WDW there is one that is slow or stopped - although that doesn't happen as often since they did the refurb!) and I *have* to copy them as we go past in the boat, much to the annoyance of my fellow sailors.

These pictures show some of the different bridges, including the entrance between Asian sections. The detail is amazing, and the colours are so beautiful. And yes, there's that pink colour again, George & Ryan!

Please join me again tomorrow, when I will be taking you through the last section of the attraction - the Americas and the beautiful White Room.
