Let's continue our tour of Liberty Arcade and the wonders she holds.
And have we looked up? We can see Lady Liberty herself in the ceiling holdings!
These fantastic adverts on the wall invite you to take a look at a short video about the building and the gifting of the Statue to the United States.

A Gift From France
The Liberty Arcade on Main Street U.S.A. is a tribute to the wonders of the Statue of Liberty in New York City.As you may or may not know, the Statue was a gift from the people of France to the United States of America, dedicated on October 28, 1886. Designed by the Frenchman Frédéric Bartholdi, the figure is based on the Roman goddess of freedom, Libertas, and is a symbol of the freedom of the United States. You can read more about 'Liberty Enlighting the World' here (Wikipedia).
The Arcade in Paris is a fantastic tribute, full of images and memorabilia of the Statue herself, and to do with the celebrations of 1886, when Liberty became a symbol to all Americans.

Were they right?

Discover The Arcades
One of the most unique features of Parc Disneyland in Paris is part of their Main Street U.S.A. Behind the shops at either side of the street are two fantastic Arcades, which allow crowds to easily enter or leave the park without having to walk down Main Street itself. This is especially handy for times during fireworks or parades!
Each arcade has a different name. When you enter the park, the arcade on the right is named Libery Arcade, and the one on the right is named Discovery Arcade. Over the next few days, we will have a look at each of these Arcades and allow you to experience them from the comfort of your chair! The Arcades themselves offer a quicker way to get 'past' Main Street U.S.A. to the hub, but they also have seperate entrances to the shops that you pass by. A great way to avoid the crowds, but also enter some quieter areas of the shops. We will start with Discovery Arcade, as it allows us to walk alongside Main Street with a better, more direct route to Discoveryland itself! As you can guess, the Arcade is dedicated to all areas of Discovery and inventions that have changed the way we live our lives.
And halfway along the arcade there is an entry to the Marketplace area, leading out to Main Street itself.

Enjoying A Moment...At the Flower and Garden
At the moment, the Epcot Flower and Garden festival is underway over in Walt Disney World. It is one of my favourite times at Epcot, as the smells and sights are a joy to behold!
I was lucky enough to visit this year, and so let's take a moment to enjoy the topiaries of Mickey Mouse and friends. The shot is processed to bring out the vibrant colours - but I love it!

Beware in the Labyrinth!
We spent time yesterday enjoying the beginning of Alice's Curious Labyrinth. But today, we need to watch! Rumour has it the Queen of Hearts may be nearby - and heaven knows we don't want to hear her shout 'Off With Their Heads!'

Journey Through The Maze
Many moons ago, here on DF'82, we took the time to wonder through Alice's Curious Labyrinth. As we approach Spring (and perhaps some of us are lucky enough to be in it already!) I think that it's about time we head back over there!
Today and tomorrow, let's take some time to enjoy the flowers, to spend time in the gardens, to see the creatures of Wonderland, and to take a look at the curious and curiouser...

Looking Up in Sept Nains
Remember how important it is to Always Look Up in any Disney Theme Park? Well, when you visit La Chaumière des Sept Nains this saying holds true.
In this shop you can see the beautiful lighting which is full of details from the Snow White animated film.Do you see the apple, infamous in the movie? And the heart, stabbed with the huntsman's knife. Fantastic detailing!
And if you are a fan of all things Snow White, be sure to stop by Filmic Light: A Snow White Sanctum. Although I will warn you that the Old Hag may be nearby (and she still gives me nightmares!).

Creator of Magic
While it was Walt Disney who truly created the Disney Theme Parks, over in Tokyo Disneyland there is someone else who helped to bring the creation to the people of Japan.
Masatomo Takahashi is a Disney Legend, the founder of the Oriental Land Company and credited for bringing "Disneyland to the children of Japan". This window is a truly beautiful dedication to the man who's mission and vision of creating a Disney theme park that all of Japan could enjoy was done so in such a way that it is somewhere the country can be proud of.
OLC signed contracts in 1979 with Disney, to build an American theme park on land the OLC held in Tokyo. In 1983 the dream came true, and Tokyo Disneyland was born.
Please take the time to read Masatomo's Disney Legends page, and learn more about this fascinating man.
