Off With Their Head

As we head under the playing Cards, we look up to see the Queen of Hearts' castle, in all its wonder.

But it looks like we might not be too welcome here - the Queen of Hearts does not seem  happy!

Maybe it's time to get out of here - what do you think?

Paint the Roses Red

As we head deeper into the labyrinth, we have to be ready to enter the area belonging to the Queen of Hearts. And how do we know when that happens? Well, I have heard that she likes all the roses to be painted red...

It looks like we might be going in the right direction!

You can see the Cards working hard to paint the roses red.

Yikes - this one appeared out of nowhere!

But I think we might be heading in the right direction, according to Cheshire Cat.

To Queen of Hearts Maze
"May be difficult. You could lose your head!"

A Cat-like Walk

And heading further into the Labyrinth we are lured into a seperate 'walk' by the Cheshire Cat.

Well, with a grin like that, who am I to refuse?!

Walk this way, or that way?

Yes, maybe this way was slightly wrong!

Follow the Dodo

Continuing the tour of Alice's Curious Labyrinth, we start to follow a familar - yet unique - creature.

It looks like Pat the Dodo would like us to follow him deeper into the maze!

This is a truly fun area of the labyrinth, as there are plenty of characters all around us!

And we can see the Cheshire Cat smiling down on us from afar.

Who Are You?

Continuing around Alice's Curious Labryinth we bump into my favourite character from Wonderland - the intriguing Caterpillar!

He looks quite pensive.

But watch out for the jumping waters - they might get you!

And do remember to look up - you know we love to do that here at DF'82! You'll see some interesting characters.

Curiouser and Curiouser

It's been a while since we looked around Alice's Curious Labyrinth in Disneyland Paris - so, for this week, we're going to spend some time exploring this curious little part of Fantasyland.

Once you can get past the White Rabbit at the entrance, you'll be exposed to all sorts of wonderful things and people from Wonderland.

Like which way should we go here...?

Perhaps he can help us!

Although, from the smile on the Cheshire Cat's face, I'm not sure there is a right way!

Light Up The Studios

Several years ago DF'82 looked at the series of lamp-posts dedicated to French, or European, filmmakers and revolutionaries.

I thought it would be nice to look at this one again, which has been relocated to the main Courtyard when you enter the Walt Disney Studios - Place de Frère Lumière.

Louis Lumière (1864-1948)
Auguste Lumière (1862-1954)

The Lumière brothers helped give birth to the movies when they presented the world's first public screening of a motion picture in Paris on December 28, 1895. The Lumière brothers' company created more than 1,000 films using their revolutionary invention, the cinematographe.

Read All About It!

This Princess is a huge fan of the amazing Main Street Gazette blog. I have no doubt that you all read Ryan's Walt Disney World based blog, and if you do you may see a familiar Princess posting on the weekly roundtables...

That being said, when visiting Disneyland Paris it's important to keep up-to-date with the latest happenings over at the Gazette. And you can do just that over at the Information board in the Hub.

(in English:)
Today at DISNEYLAND

For your enjoyment in Disneyland Park today is a wide selection of extraordinary and wonderful delights. Feast your eyes on a veritable pageant of parades and theatrical entertainments. Enter worlds of history, discovery and ageless fantasy.

Focus on...Marceline, Missouri

The small mid-west town of Marceline, Missouri was where Walt Disney spent much of his childhood and it became the inspiration for Main Street U.S.A.. At the turn of the 20th century, gas lamps were quickly giving way to Edison's new electric lights, and horse-drawn streetcars to new fangled motor-cars. It was a time of invention, optimism and change.

Taken from Main Street Gazette, established 1867 "we print the news before it happens".

Time For A Cookout

If you meander deep into Frontierland, Disneyland Paris, you'll come across a tasty treat!

Down in Cottonwood Creek you will be able to experience the Cowboy Cookout Barbeque.

Come One! Come All!

This fantastic setting is the place where cowboys of the Frontier head for a tasty bite.

As you can see, you can get some Tasty Cowboy Chow with Disney Characters here in Cottonwood Creek. It looks like Woody and friends will be here to join us!

And if you are wondering what foods are available, you can see there are burgers, rotisserie chicken, pork ribs and vegetarian burgers. Delicious!

Some Peace and Quiet

One of the things I love about Disneyland Paris is the layout of the park. Due to the detailing and positioning of the lands, there are some fantastic hidden passageways and quiet areas, perfect to take some time out. Perhaps with a snack or a nice drink?

Take, for instance, this small passageway between Fantasyland and Adventureland.

A great place to take a moment, a seat and do some people-watching.

Fancy A Trip Overseas?

This Princess will be lucky enough to visit California later in the week, ready for the Tinkerbell Half Marathon. But what if you are staying in Japan, and fancy a trip overseas to the Disneyland Resort, California?

You might pick up a pamphlet similar to these, advertising all the wonders of the Original Disney Park!
